Narrative analysis of Shamlou's shortest poem based on Roland Barth's five-part code

Abstract
One approach to critique and analyze literary texts is the narrative perspective. This issue is a relatively new topic in Persian literature and, based on an analytical perspective, it has received much attention in contemporary literature. One of the prominent features of the new poetry is its narrative character and in the meantime, the poems of Ahmad Shamlou illustrate this feature in a very clear way. The shortest poem by Ahmad Shamloo (Sallakhi, crying was lost to a small canary) can be said to be based on the teachings of narrators such as Roland Barth; A narrative that, though telling only two related events, has the characteristic that it does not end after reading and continues in the reader's mind. This study, using Bart's method, the analysis of the five-fold code of narration, has shown that this poem is a kind of loss story due to its two characters. That raises many expectations, ambiguities, and questions for the reader. Of course, this short story does not answer them and so it goes on in the reader's mind. The study of the two-way contrast of "love / violence" in the poem also shows that the intertwining of the two sides of the poem in the theme creates humor in the poem. This study also shows that this poem is, in the final analysis, a narrative of "the victory of love" and "the defeat of violence."
