The semiotic approach to understanding the aesthetics of speech examines various systems, including the beautiful and the sublime. The interaction between these two systems leads to the formation of descending and ascending procedural schemas. The study of these processes clarifies how meaning is produced and received within two aesthetic frameworks: aesthetics as the beautiful and aesthetics as the sublime. The presence of the aesthetic is prominently evident in the discourses of the short story collection Ard al-Burtuqal al-Hazin (The Land of Sad Oranges). From this collection, the story Waraqa min al-Taira contains ideological others that form the basis for the expansion of knowledge and beauty. This essay seeks, through a descriptive-analytical method and with the aim of elucidating the ethical discourse in literature, to examine the aforementioned story in light of the spectral meanings derived from the interaction between the beautiful and the sublime.It addresses the question of how the rupture and discontinuity in the beautiful drive the discourse toward a return to the origin of existence and a transformation of meaning. The findings of the research indicate that the ideological discourse in this story is influenced by intertwined aesthetic processes, and to the extent that the subject distances itself from itself and approaches the other, knowledge also expands. but at higher levels of meaning, the subject merges with the other and produces ideal meanings in a state that has transcended action and is mixed with being.
